Plan Commission Minutes

Plan Commission Meeting @ 6:30 pm

at Reedsburg Town Hall

Monday, May 11, 2026

Present: Julie Barreau, Terri Connors, David Allen, Mimi Wuest
Also Present:  Chad Allen, Rebecca Klitzke, Neil Pfaff, Will Christensen

        1.        Call Plan Commission to order at 6:30 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance. Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm with the pledge of allegiance.

        2.        Certify compliance with Open Meetings Law §985.02(2)(a).  R. Meyer certified that meeting was posted on the front door of the Town Hall and on the Town website.

        3.        Adopt the agenda. Motion by Allen / Wuest to adopt the agenda. Motion carried unanimously.

        4.        Approve the Minutes from previous meeting. Motion by Connors / Allen to approve the minutes from the March meeting.  Motion carried unanimously.

        5.        Anyone wishing to speak that is not on the agenda - No action can be taken (3minute limit). No one spoke. 

6.         Neil Pfaff and Will Christensen regarding Grede Holdings, LLC request for a rezone on parcel 030-0820-00000 from exclusive Agriculture to Agriculture.  Also, a Conditional Use Permit request for the continued operation of the Grede Landfill on parcels 030-0808-20000, 030-0827-00000, and the expansion of landfill operations on parcels 030-0820-00000 and 030-0809-00000.  Terri Connors recused herself from discussion and voting on this item due to personal business with the applicant.  Will Christensen explained the request from Grede Holdings, LLC for a rezone on parcel 030-0820-00000 from exclusive Agriculture to Agriculture.  Also, a Conditional Use Permit request for the continued operation of the Grede Landfill on parcels 030-0808-20000, 030-0827-00000, and the expansion of landfill operations on parcels 030-0820-00000 and 030-0809-00000.  Neil Pfaff explained the reason for the rezone and Conditional Use Permit and expressed the importance of approval of the bi-product waste to be taken to the landfill.  Motion by J. Barreau / Allen to recommend approval to the Town of Reedsburg Board regarding Grede Holdings, LLC request for a rezone on parcel 030-0820-00000 from exclusive Agriculture to Agriculture.  Also, a Conditional Use Permit request for the continued operation of the Grede Landfill on parcels 030-0808-20000, 030-0827-00000, and the expansion of landfill operations on parcels 030-0820-00000 and 030-0809-00000 with a 5 year renewal on the Conditional Use Permit.  Mimi Wuest Abstained from voting. Motion carried unanimously.

        7.        Plan Commission Committee Members updates – No updates at this time.

        8.        Anything else reasonably related to the agenda. (No action can be taken at this meeting). Nothing.

        9.        Next meeting date if there is anything to discuss.  June 8, 2026 @ 6:30 pm

      10.      Adjourn – Motion by Allen / Connors to adjourn at 7:13 pm.  Motion carried unanimously.
